According to the report, Chilliingo - which published hits like Cut the Rope and co-published Angry Birds - was purchased for the lowest price of $20 million, just a mist in the direction of the initial $300 million (plus performance incentive) deal Electronic Arts put into place to acquire PlayFish. EA would not confirm the purchase price.
This deal continues the streak of high quality independent mobile teams being gobbled up by bigger fish. Last week, a Japanese mobile company DeNA revealed plans to purchase developer ngmoco, while both Disney and Google have reportedly cracked full wallets in order to invest in mobile game talent.
If $20 million dollar is indeed the purchase price of Chillingo by Electronic Arts (EA), is the price enough?
