Retired Major General Carlos P. Garcia is now jailed in New Bilibid Prison in Muntinlupa City after he was transferred from Camp Aguinaldo, as reported by Inquirer News.
Maj. Gen. Garcia was arrested September 16, 2011 (Friday) at approximately 8:30 in the morning. The arrest was done based on the verdict issued by the military court on charges of violation of Articles of War 96 and 97.
Report said that Garcia, 85, is expected to undergo a medical check-up before being put in jail.
Garcia was initially detained at the Intelligence Service of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (ISAFP), said Deputy Spokesman Major Enrico Gil Ileto.
According to a report in Radyo Inquirer 990AM, Maj. Gen. Carlos Garcia left the ISAFP detention center shortly after 2 p.m. and was on his way to Muntinlupa City accompanied by a convoy of security personnel.
