Azkals vs Singapore - Azkals optimistic to win this time

Today the Azkals will play a friendly game against Singapore Lions. The Philippine Football Team left for Singapore last Thursday afternoon.

The Philippine Azkals had one day of rest after their campaign in the Long Teng Cup, where they finished in second place.

"S'yempre pagod na kami," striker Phil Younghusband said, adding that they played 3 games in the last 5 days. "Pero sana yung adrenaline sa Singapore will get us through."

Azkals are really eager to play with the Lions and this time, they are confident to win the game.

In their previous game with the Singapore team, Team Azkals just saved their reputation by getting a draw, 1-1.

"Magaling sila, pero 'yung last game namin against Singapore ay tie, 1-1. Pero mas malakas kami ngayon, sana manalo kami," Younghusband said.

"Singapore is a 2-time champion sa Suzuki Cup, excited na kami na makalaban sila ulit. Sabi nga nila, nirerespeto nila ang Team Azkals ngayon," said left winger Chieffy Caligdong.

Azkals just made a good finish in the Long Teng Cup, where they ranked 2nd.

The Azkals will welcome back Europe-based players including Neil Etheridge, Stephan Schrock, Paul Mulders, Jerry Lucena and Dennis Cagara just in time for the Singapore friendly game.

This friendly game is a good preparation for Azkals for the upcoming Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games).

Can you guess the outcome of Azkals vs Singapore friendly game?
