Pacers stay alive as they beat the Heat 93-90 in Game 5

Paul George and the Indiana Pacers showed they wanted to extend the series and did not let the Miami Heat bury them again in their own court winning 93-90 in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Finals while the four-time MVP, Lebron James scored a playoff career-low seven points, played a playoff career-low in minutes and had his second-worst playoff shooting performance (20% on 10 shots).

George scored 37 points, 31 of that was on the second half. On the other side, Lebron James watched helplessly from the bench as Miami's lead slipped away. James never got into rhythm playing with 5 fouls and just contributed 7 points, two rebounds and four assists in 24 minutes.

Without James' usual contributions, Miami's supporting cast tried to bail him out. Bosh had 20 points and 10 rebounds. Dwyane Wade and Rashard Lewis each finished with 18 points and the Heat were 15 of 31 from beyond the arc — and it still wasn't enough.

James almost made enough plays for the victory. He hit a three-pointer and assisted on another during a stretch in which the Heat made five consecutive threes and cut the Pacers' lead to 92-90 with 13.6 seconds left.

The Heat had the ball with a chance to tie or take the lead. James caught the in-bound pass and drove the basket. George and Roy Hibbert collapsed on James, who threw it to Chris Bosh for a three in the corner, but the All-Star center missed.

"I was able to get into the paint, drew two and saw CB in the corner in his sweet spot," James said. "Thought we got a pretty good look. You live with the result."

''We just played. Our backs are against the wall right now so that's all we can do,'' George said. '' The Pacers will still need everything else to go right because they still trail 3-2.  They must win in Miami if they want to extend the series to a Game 7 at home. Game 6 is Saturday (Philippine Time) in Miami.
