After being down 0-1 in the series, the Miami Heat bounced back behind the heroics of the back-to-back finals' MVP Lebron James to beat the San Antonio Spurs in Game 2 of the 2014 NBA Finals 98-96 and even the series at 1-1. The Heat had 16 consecutive playoff series with a road win and 13 straight wins after playoff loss in the big 3 era.
James had 35 points and 10 rebounds in a powerful bounce back from cramps that knocked him out of the key part of Game 1, leading the Miami Heat to a thrilling win over the San Antonio Spurs at a cooled-down AT&T Center.

Tim Duncan had yet another postseason double-double (18 points, 15 rebounds) to set another record, and Tony Parker had 21 points and seven assists, but the Spurs couldn't get enough stops down the stretch in the loss.
The Spurs had an eleven point lead at the start of the second quarter and looked ready to blow the game wide open, but James awoke from his slumber and quickly scored or assisted on 11 points during a 15-3 run to put the Heat back in front. It was back and forth from there, and the teams entered the locker room tied at 43.
The second half of the NBA Finals 2014 Game 2 became tighter with the teams exchanging leads but the Spurs missed a chance to seize control in the fourth quarter when Tony Parker and Tim Duncan combined to miss four straight free throws when they had a two-point lead. James then made a 3-pointer and two free throws and Chris Bosh's shot behind the arc and an assist to Dwayne Wade made Miami up to pull it out.
After two days of enduring criticism for not finishing and getting suggestions on how to avoid cramps, James changed the subject. ''Got to play hard,'' James said. ''I believe the man above will protect me. I just try to put myself and my teammates in position to succeed.''
