A P1.00 increase in bus fare has been approved and will be implemented starting Tuesday, March 29 in Metro Manila only.
According to a report by radio dzMM Dennis Datu, the bus fare hike was approved by the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB).
Commuters for both air-conditioned and non-air-conditioned buses will have to pay an additional P1.00 for the first 5 kilometers.
“Dahil diyan ang dating P9 na pamasahe sa non-air con bus ay magiging P10 na, habang doon naman sa aircon bus ay magiging P12 na mula sa P11 sa first 5 kilometers,” Datu said.
The report added that the fare hike is only for buses plying the Metro Manila route.
Datu said no additional increase has been approved for the succeeding kilometers.
One of the reasons for the fare hike is the increase in the prices of diesel products. [source: http://www.abs-cbnnews.com/nation]
