Like most new video game hardware the 3DS having just launched is in the awkward phase - not very many games are available yet. Also like most gaming hardware the 3DS’s launch titles largely leave a lot to be desired. If you are an early adopter who decided to buy the handheld early or if you received it as a gift here are 3 Nintendo 3DS games that are worth your time and money.
1. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D
When The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of time originally came out way back during the days of the Nintendo 64 it was praised as not just one of the best games on the platform but also of all time. Now years later, Nintendo is seeking to recapture that magic with The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D. The remake features upgraded visuals while still keeping the core gameplay that everyone knows and loves. Besides the better graphics and the 3D interaction Nintendo has also added some cool features that take advantage of the hardware such as being able to move the system to aim the bow or hookshot. The game features dozens of hours of gameplay and lots of side quests and Nintendo has increased the replay value even further by giving players who complete the game access to a more difficult master quest mode.
2. Super Street Fighter 4
I’ll be the first to admit that I had my doubts about a fighting game on a handheld but Capcom proved others and me wrong with Super Street Fighter 4. The games features graphics comparable to its console based older brothers and makes use of the systems 3D brilliantly with special features like a dynamic angle game play perspective. The core gameplay is surprisingly in tact with the slider providing decent control and the touch screen relegated to the traditionally more complex special moves.
3. Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D
Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D is an expanded version of the sub game The Mercenaries available after completing many prior Resident Evil games. This version looks every bit as good as Resident Evil 5 on the PS3 and Xbox 360 and features every character playable in any of the past The Mercenaries installments. Fan favorites like Wesker and HUNK join new additions like Claire Redfield in this gory, tense, non-stop action sequence. Each round is explosive from start to finish and even veteran Resident Evil players are sure to be tested with harder difficulty settings.

I remember playing Mercenaries over and over again when I beat Resident Evil 3. It was very addicting to get that Unlimited Ammo.
ReplyDeleteI didn't know that there already is Ocarina of Time for the 3DS. Nintendo's really doing a good job taking care of their Zelda franchise.
