2013 Acura RDX - The Crossover For The Modern Superhero

Aliens, Falling Cars and Explosions - Oh My!

If I were trying to outrun aliens down city streets with cars falling from the sky and explosions all around me I’m really not sure what kind of car I would want to choose. The classic choices would always be some kind of fast sports car like a Camaro or Jaguar; I would never think to choose an SUV as my escape car. Well if you have seen Acura’s recent commercial for their RDX maybe it would convince you to choose their RDX rather than the sports car from your favorite action movie.

Acura isn’t just making action packed commercials to promote their new vehicles; they are getting their newest models into prime positions to show off just how nice they have become. Acura’s most recent movie appearance is actually as the Official car of The Avengers but this is not Acura’s first movie appearance. They have been teamed up with Marvel Entertainment in some of the most recent releases including THOR and Captain America. In the movie THOR the Acura TL had the chance to steal the spotlight as the official vehicle of S.H.I.E.L.D., the secret agency of protectors. Acura used the movie as a chance to show off the recently redesigned TL from its sleek new look it it’s shiny new rims. Acura is using The Avengers to do the same thing with their new RDX.

What makes the new 2013 Acura RDX special

The newly redesigned 2013 Acura RDX sports a whole host of new features. The new RDX received an upgrade in spaciousness, offering more storage space and a larger passenger seating area for greater comfort. To accommodate for the larger interior, the exterior was redesigned with a whole new look. The exterior was given a more modern look with smooth lines, a rear spoiler, and even a new set of Acura rims. The overall effect was to make the car look modern and appealing to a younger, action oriented audience. The upgrades were not just cosmetic; they also swapped out the 4-cylider engine for their new V6, which actually offers better fuel economy than the old engine.

To appeal to the young tech-savvy generation Acura now offers many features for the in-dash entertainment/navigation system. This includes everything from voice guided GPS to Pandora Radio and Bluetooth connectivity. Although the older crowd may not care about these fancy new features, Acura’s young new market definitely wants their luxury car to have the latest gadgets available.
