Disneyland in the Philippines

Disneyland in the Philippines!

Voted as the “happiest place on Earth” Disneyland is a magical place for children and adults alike.
It’s a wonderful haven to enjoy childhood, fairytale dreams and world of happy endings with your family.

Last April 2012, news reports had it that First District of Pampanga Representative Carmelo “Tarzan” Lazatin sent a convincingly letter to the chairman of Walt Disney Parks and Resorts. He wrote how expanding the international theme park franchise on Philippine soil will be of best choice. The country will benefit a lot from it with the expected rising surge of tourists and such.
Disneyland in the Philippines - It's more fun in the Philippines

In this article, we will turn to the other end and take a closer look at three reasons why Walt Disney will benefit from building a Disneyland in the Philippines as well.

1. Walt Disney will have the best tourist spot intended for the leisure park.

The Philippines offered Clark Airbase, Pampanga, which encompasses 4,400 hectares in the main zone and 27,600 hectares in the subzone, to be the location of Disneyland. Clark, being a tax-free zone where both local and foreign tourists can enjoy tax-free privileges, will encourage tourists to spend more leisurely thus Walt Disney will earn more. Clark also has the best hotels in its roster where tourists can experience world-class level of hospitality and Filipinos’ way of service.

When visitors know about it, they will be even more heartened and feel less concerned for the accommodations and amenities. Moreover, Clark has its own world-class airport—the Clark International Airport, which is expected to serve more passengers in the next years, making it easier for tourists to land to the place without encountering the hassles of long travels.

2. Walt Disney can build more brand awareness and market saturation with lower costs.

Both local and foreign tourists will consider going to the Disneyland in the Philippines as it would hurt their wallets least, as compared to travelling and spending in other Disneyland locations in Asia and other continents.

For local people, even for those living far from Pampanga and those whose income levels are not as high, they will most definitely include visiting the Disneyland Philippines in their bucket lists and fulfill their dream. Instead of going out of the country and shelling out more for airplane fees and time, expensive lodging fees, and miscellaneous stuff, they would rather stay in their own land while advocating the “It’s More Fun in the Philippines!” slogan. Common thought bubble would be: “Why go abroad for Disneyland, when you can take a trip by land or by air faster and with lesser dent to yourbudget?”

For foreigners, an instant marketing boost would be that the Philippines is already considered as the cheapest and yet one of the favorite tourist destinations in Southeast Asia. In fact, arrival of foreign tourists in the country averages at four million a year in 2012. And the government is even trying to hit the five-million mark for the next year.Because of these, a Disneyland in the Philippines could be a major income generating site for Walt Disney.

3. Walt Disney can source more people with greater talents.

This is not to say that talents from other countries are not as good, but Filipinos sing, dance, perform and entertain the best among all in general. When you visit other countries, Filipino entertainers are everywhere in the hotels, parks, bars, clubs, concert stages, auditoriums, etc. As a hard fact, the number of Filipinos working as performers in other Disneyland franchises is surprisingly huge. When Walt Disney brings the place or the job opportunity to the land where these talents can be traced outright in, they can get and hire even more people at lesser costs as the Philippines is a third-world country.

Disneyland in the Philippines is still in the decision-making phase. When it becomes a reality, Walt Disney and the Philippines will both benefit from the infrastructure, the business and the relationship.
