This is the last batch of the series of orientations conducted to the recipient schools for DepEd Computerization Program (DCP) with its participants from ARMM and Region XI.
For batch 4 of the Computerization Program, there were 375 secondary schools who were given computer laboratory package and for the upcoming release of laboratory packages for batch 5, there will be 675 secondary schools who will enjoy the said computerization program of the DepEd.
The computers for batch 4 were already deployed to the recipient schools while the computers for batch 5 will be deployed on January to February 2010.
This orientation on the the Nationwide Roll-Out of Batch 4 and Batch 5 of the Deped Computerization Program aims to solve the problems encountered by the Batch 1 to 4 of the computerization program while giving the Batch 5 a clearer view on the things to be done in time the computer laboratory packages will be delivered in their respective school.
"Transforming Education Through Technology": This is the slogan of DepeD Computerization Program which stressed in the big role of technology in attaining the goal for quality education.
Dir. Mari Paul C. Soriano, the Director III of DepEd's Technical Service and the Vice Chairman of ICT Technical Committee, agitated and made the participants excited as he talked about ICT Programs and Projects.
He enumerated the DepEd's ICT Programs and Projects for the Teaching-Learning Process, those projects are the following:
- DepEd Computerization Program
- DepEd Internet Connectivity Project
- DepEd ICT Projects for Governance and Management
- Laptop for Teachers Project (LT4T)

i just would like to clarify if elementary is excluded as recepients of the said program... is it exclusive for secondary? i Will be waiting fir the requirement for LT4T program....

ReplyDeleteElementary schools are also included in DepEd Computerization which will start next year for batch 6 and 7. The highlight in the said program is the Interactive Whiteboard. It is like a touch screen computer na kasing laki ng chalkboard.
Good afternoon poh. Our school is among the recipients (secondary schools) of the computers. infact, I have attended the orientation conducted last November 18 at CDO City. we are told that the computers wil be delivered sometime in December 2010 but before Christmas break. Now we only have nextweek to go and classes is over for a break. I would like to know when is the delivery of the computers to our school, in fact, the room where we will house the computers is now ready. We spent so much for things like A/C, electric fans, chairs, computer tables, the wiring of the room including painting, window grills and others as required by the DepEd.
ReplyDeleteI am not in authority to answer your query. Maybe you can ask the person behind this program or your Division ICT Coordinator regarding your concern about DCP computers or DepEd Computerization Program.
ReplyDeleteIn our experience, our school was scheduled for the delivery of DCP Computers on January to February 2009 but we received the computer lab package on March 31, 20009.
Maybe the computers intended for your school will be delivered sometime in the last week of January 2011 or on February, depending on how fast the contractors of the computers in deploying the said computers.
i wonder why govt should spend so much in technology where in fact there are so many barrios who dont even have schools...

* go to mountains and see the scenarios of teachers there
* build more school
* hire more teachers
* less the ratio in classroom per teacher
* support the public schools finances
* etc...etc...etc...so many to mentions
the program is so idealistic....to good...but the sad thing always remain....
