Nintendo 3DS specs, price and release date | Portable Game Console

Nintendo 3DS is a portable or hand-held game console created by Nintendo which can produce 3D effects without the need of any special glasses. As officially announced, Nintendo 3DS includes 3D camera and is capable of playing Hollywood movies in 3D.

What is 3DS in Nintendo 3DS?
3DS means 3-Dimensional Space.

What is meant by glass-free 3D?

Most of the development work on glasses-free 3D has been directed at high-definition televisions and computer monitors. Usually, special glasses are needed to separate the onscreen 3D image into two sections (one special lens for each eye), but now some companies are developing screen overlays that do this work. But this technology typically requires you to be in one specific position in front of the screen to view the 3D image. Move away from that 'sweet spot' and the 3D effect is lost. Some companies, like Singapore-based Sunny Ocean Studios, are developing screen overlays that make it possible to view a 3D image from more than one angle.

• It has analog stick just above the D-Pad.
• Nintendo 3DS has 3.5-inch screens, but only the bottom screen is touch supported.
• Integrated Wifi support which will enable the gamer to download news and articles from the internet.
• Has two camera lenses that will enable you to shoot 3D images(it's like Print Screen)
• The 3DS will allow the player to disable the 3D option via a slide control.
• Nintendo 3Ds has the potential to become the greatest portable gaming device ever created.
• The first handheld device to offer 3D gaming experience.
• Its really a breakthrough in the technology of portable or handheld gaming console.
• It comes in three colors - blue, red, and black.
• Media: Nintendo 3DS game card/DS Game cards
• Its a predecessor of Nintendo DS series (DS, DS Lite, DSi, and DSi XL).

So far these are the specs and features that i gathered through my research about Nintendo 3DS.

How about Nintendo 3DS price?
During its official announcement of the added features like 3D camera, guys from Nintendo did not reveal yet the price of this Nintendo 3DS. But there are some sort of estimation about the price range of this handheld gaming console.

Nintendo 3DS price is expected to be around $150 - $200. This is just merely an estimation of the price. It could go even higher to $300.

What about Nintendo 3DS release date?

Nintendo has not announced a specific launch date, but you can expect the Nintendo 3DS to hit store shelves within the next twelve months, according to a company press release. However, it's not clear whether the device will be launched in Japan first, followed by a later U.S. release, or if the 3DS will be released worldwide within the next year.

***Upon looking at the specs and features of Nintendo 3DS, it is really a very cool portable gaming console - another big leap in gaming technology bringing the realm of 3-Dimensional Space. I should get this gaming gadget!(just add this to my wishlist).
