Nintendo 3DS XL Release Date Revealed

Nintendo 3DS XL will be released in the gaming marketplace this August 19, 2012. This is a cutting-edge 3DS design which was announced in the course of the Nintendo Direct broadcast on the 21st day of June 2012.

Nintendo 3DS XL with larger screen and improved battery
It is tagged as Nintendo 3DS XL because it is an enhanced version of the Nintendo 3DS portable gaming console. 3DS XL is much bigger and brighter than its prototype with nearly 2 times the screen resolution (4.88-inch upper, 4.18-inch lower vs. 3.53-inch upper, 3.01-inch lower on the original 3DS).

The 3DS XL however features the same glasses-free 3D system, and is presumed to endure even longer on a single battery charge than the original 3DS, though we won't know for sure until after some great tech sites put the new 3DS XL through battery evaluations.

Oddly, the all new 3DS XL sports identical control setup as the 3DS and is short of a second thumbpad. We'll be really curious to find whether the bigger body of the 3DS XL could shape up the Circlepad Pro accessory that was unleashed for the 3DS to empower players more control over 3D games.

The 3Ds XL is expected to sell for $ 199.99, just $ 30 more than the existing $ 169.99 inquiring cost of the base 3DS, though this updates might possibly prefigure a 3DS price drop in the near future.

As a gamer, I'm very decidedly enthused with the release of Nintendo 3DS XL and I'm looking forward to purchase this remarkable gaming device to be added in my collection.

That have not been the only new product Nintendo revealed during the 20-minute announcement on Thursday.

Nintendo's New Super Mario Bros. 2 will kick off alongside the 3DS XL on Aug, with a stream of other fresh titles for the 3Ds and 3Ds XL including Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance, Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask, LEGO The Lord of the Rings and more, following shortly after.
