My "Teaching Earth Science" Article was submitted to different article directories

Last May 2010, I have submitted an article to ezinearticles for the purpose of building backlinks for my "make money online by blogging" blog. The title of the article is: "Teaching Earth Science: Its Challenges and Rewards". This article is a product of my thorough research - online and offline and with the help of my experiences in teaching earth science.

As i checked the keywords: "Teaching Earth Science Its Challenges and Rewards" i was amazed that the article i submitted to an article directory (ezinearticles) now ranks #1 Google's SERP. Checking further with the keyword: "Teaching Earth Science", the article ranks # 6. What caught my attention more is that i found the relevant phrases and paragraph of that article in different blogs and article directories.

Increasing the backlinks of your website or blog through article submission is good if you submitted your own articles not just spun articles. I am happy because my articles have spread but i'm sad i did not gain any backlink towards my blog.
