The 76th season of the University Athletic Association of the Philippines(UAAP) has officially started with an opening ceremony led by the host school, the Adamson University at the Mall of Asia, Pasay City, Saturday-June 29, 2013.
This season’s opening ceremony was patterned after the hit book and movie, “The Hunger Games”. Adamson’s basketball star player, Jericho Cruz led all the athletes and lit the torch for this season with the theme, “Greatness never ends”.
The program was attended by the presidents, board members and student-athletes of the eight schools. Mr. Gregg Bañaga, Adamson’s president acknowledged the presence of everyone and honored the greatness of all the athletes and participants for this season. “Greatness starts here at the UAAP. The names and faces may change, but the greatness stays,” he added in his speech.
