Heat eliminate Pacers, return to NBA Finals

The Miami Heat was determined enough to close out the series in Miami, Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Finals defeating the Indiana Pacers 117-92 for the second straight year. The Heat advance to the NBA Finals for the fourth consecutive time  becoming just the third franchise in NBA history to do that since the 1984-87 Boston Celtics, teams for which Pacers president of basketball operations Larry Bird played. But being on top didn't seemed to be enough to beat the two-time defending champions since the playoffs became a totally different level and the Heat, just at the right time level up their game as well.

Pacers stay alive as they beat the Heat 93-90 in Game 5

Paul George and the Indiana Pacers showed they wanted to extend the series and did not let the Miami Heat bury them again in their own court winning 93-90 in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Finals while the four-time MVP, Lebron James  scored a playoff career-low seven points, played a playoff career-low in minutes and had his second-worst playoff shooting performance (20% on 10 shots). On the other side,  Lebron James watched helplessly from the bench as Miami's lead slipped away.  James never got into rhythm playing with 5 fouls and just contributed 7 points, two rebounds and four assists in 24 minutes. Without James' usual contributions, Miami's supporting cast tried to bail him out.  Bosh had 20 points and 10 rebounds. Dwyane Wade and Rashard Lewis each finished with 18 points and the Heat were 15 of 31 from

Russel Westbrook and Kevin Durant became so effective scoring 40 points, ten assists and 31 points respectively. Ibaka added eight points and nine rebounds for the team. Oklahoma City dominated for the second consecutive game after getting blown out in the first two. The Thunder committed just seven turnovers and shot 49 percent from the field. The Spurs scored the first eight points of the game, but things went downhill from there. A steal and dunk by Westbrook gave the Thunder a 4

The Miami Heat led from start to finish, thumped the Indiana Pacers 102-90 in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference finals on Tuesday (Philippine Time) and sent them back to Indiana in major predicament. Source: http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/nba/playoffs/2014/05/26/miami-heat-vs-indiana-pacers-game-4 Chris Bosh comes alive and started everything for the Heat. After being unnoticed on the first three games of the series, Bosh had a really hot hand and scored 25 points (3-5, 3pt FG). Lebron James once again had an MVP-like game with 32 points, ten rebounds, five assists and surpassed Michael Jordan to have at least 25 points, five rebounds and five assists in a playoff game. Dwayne Wade also contributed 15 points. Paul George scored 23 points and David West added 20 points and 12 rebounds for the Pacers, who got 15 points from George Hill. Thunder beat Spurs 106-97, avoid 3-0 disadvantage

The Oklahoma City Thunder looked like a different team when they returned home and beat the San Antonio Spurs in Game 3 of the Western Conference Finals 106-97 with Serge Ibaka's dramatic return from what was thought to be season-ending left calf strain. Source: http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/nba/playoffs/2014/05/25 Ibaka started after missing the first two games of the series and scored 15 points, seven rebounds and four blocks. Since then, both teams are already exchanging shots and had several lead changes. Lebron James, four-time MVP even suffered with what appeared to be a hamstring cramp seconds left on the third quarter but Dwayne Wade who was brought in for Lebron responded with a 3-pointer and gav

They combined to shoot 13 for 40, including 4 for 14 in the fourth quarter. The Thunder led by two after the first quarter, and neither team had a lead that extended past six points. But a 25-8 run from San Antonio made them establish a 58-44 lead into halftime. Durant blames himself for their loss and said, "I messed up the end of the second quarter ... It was my fault. I take responsibility for that." Oklahoma City's Kevin

Hang Gliding: The Not So Extreme Sports and a Case For Deckchair Aviation

Many of us have been inspired to fly, but for some reason, the burdens of life or circumstances have stopped us. Once, I wanted to learn how to hang glide. I attended an initial primer near my home city of Perth, but was sorely disappointed by what I saw. Without naming the company (yet it was the only one in my state), we faced multiple problems. Bad weather, equipment was broken often – I watched the hang gliding school repairing equipment out in the flight areas. Instructors were late. It was a combination of things both controllable and uncontrollable that turned me off the scene. I spent a total of five days baking in the hot Australian sun, with little heat tornadoes spawning around me. I’d only actually paid for two days. The chief instructor had attempted to “make things right” by simply giving me another chance to come along for “free”. The end solution was always the same. I got nothing - I never flew. Five days in the blazing and unfiltered Australian sun had left me
